PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION FOR 2024/2025 NIGERIAN STUDENTS TO STUDY IN FRANCE
Campus France Nigeria organized last weekend a Pre-Departure Orientation for the 2024/2025 cohort of Nigerian students going to study in French Higher Institutions.
On the 27th of July, Campus France Nigeria hosted a pre-departure orientation event for Nigerian students embarking on an academic journey to France for the 2024/2025 academic session. It was held simultaneously at Institut Français du Nigeria in Abuja, and at Alliance Française Lagos/Mike Adenuga Centre in Lagos.
The event focused on highlighting the necessary actions the students must do before and upon their arrival in France, particularly how they can make the best of the French innovation and research-focused education to attain their career aspirations and give back to Nigeria. Additionally, students received relevant information regarding the administrative processes, social benefits available for students, like the social security, reduction on transport fares for those below 26 years old, subsidized rates for meals in school cafeterias, and housing subsidy. The students were able to ask questions and got adequate answers.
This year, the cohort is majorly made up of Nigeria Petroleum and Technology Development Funds (PTDF) scholarship awardees, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) awardees, Total Energies Scholars, Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree Scholarship awardees, Eiffel Excellence scholar, France Excellence Scholarship, and also self-funded students whose determination influenced their decision to fund their studies in various highly-rated French institutions.
We believe this cohort of students would greatly acquire relevant skills that would benefit their career mobility and also contribute to the academic, social, and economic development of Nigeria and the world at large.
We wish them a very fruitful stay in France!
